Active together for better mental health

When we are not designing amazing websites or coming up with fantastically creative designs we all enjoy working out in our spare time, we do quite a lot as a team, from running marathons, climbing mountains, cycling around the UK and racing each other in our local 10k, you could say we love exercise.

Just for fun we also set each other on crazy challenges, seeing who can run the most miles, who can keep up with 10K steps per day, who can go to the gym 30 days in a row, who can get the most medals, you get the idea…so after brainstorming a few ideas around the office we came up with the idea of taking part in Red January this year.

For those of you who don’t know what Red January is or if you haven’t heard of this before, basically the charity ‘Mind’ runs a fund raiser every January where you challenge yourself to get active every day, it can be running, swimming, dancing, walking…. absolutely anything that gets you active for that day, for 31 days straight.

This for us as a team is perfect timing, straight after the Christmas festivities where we need a bit of inspiration to get fit after maybe gaining a few extra pounds over the Christmas period, but most important of all we are raising money for an exceptional charity who work extremely hard to provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem.

Mind campaign tirelessly to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding. They won’t give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect.

For all of us taking part in Red January this will challenge us both physically and mentally, especially when the weather outside may not be the brightest, January is renowned for being freezing cold, wet, miserable, snowy and down right dreary, but this will not stop us! Every single day we will be lacing up our trainers and best workout gear to get out and get active!

Every single penny you donate will help push us out of the door on the coldest and frostiest of those January mornings and evenings, altogether we will kick start 2020 in a positive way raising money for Mind and being active for better mental health.

We have also designed our own Red T-shirt especially for the occasion and we will be updating our blog with our workouts, achievements and lots of pictures as we go so keep checking back here for our progress.
