Is it too early to be thinking about Christmas?

Whilst it’s definitely too early to be putting your tree up, it’s never too early to start thinking about your Christmas campaign.

Christmas is a major holiday for most businesses. The majority of businesses see an increase in sales, and throughout the festive period more people are out and about, visiting restaurants, shops and other facilities. With UK consumers spending on average 25% more during the Christmas period, organisation is key!

So where should I start?

Think back to last Christmas

Did you plan a campaign last Christmas? If so, what worked, what didn’t go so well? Reviewing what you have done previously provides the perfect starting block when thinking about a new campaign.

Who do you want to target?

Without an audience in mind it’s difficult to start a campaign. Who your audience is will give a great steer to the content of the campaign and how it is delivered.

What do I want to offer?

Next up is the what. Is it a seasonal line you want to push, an enticing offer or the perfect gift? Think about who you have chosen as your audience and what they want to see!

Don’t forget the detail

A campaign is so much more than sending out an email with an offer on. In order to be successful, your campaign should take place on all of your marketing channels, and should be a prominent feature when people visit you, for example a slider on your website homepage, or a pinned post on your socials. Reflections of the campaign could also be seen in your offline materials such as packaging and thank you notes. A successful campaign is one that is cohesive and memorable.
