We’re looking for an experienced Web Designer to join our passionate and expanding web team.

As a web designer, your primary responsibility will be to create aesthetically pleasing and innovative website designs, from concept to completion, for our diverse clientele spanning various sectors. Successful candidates will possess agency experience and the ability to handle multiple projects whilst working to strict deadlines. A significant part of your role involves executing keyword research and competitor assessment, mapping user journeys, and gaining insights into user personas. These elements should be skilfully incorporated into your designs to guarantee that the websites you develop yield high-performance outcomes for our clients. You are expected to collaborate closely with the web design and development teams to collaborate on new ideas and ensure that the websites you produce are constructed and refined to the highest possible standard.

Full-time
Hybrid (Minimum of 2 days a week at our Retford location)
Salary: £30,000-£35,000, dependent on experience

Key responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• Understanding customers and their needs through market analysis, customer research, usage analytics, and feedback
• Creating sitemaps, wireframes, user flows, process flows and prototypes
• Executing all visual design stages from concept to final stage
• Developing effective and engaging design concepts that surpass our clients expectations
• Ensuring your work is of the highest quality and pushes creative boundaries
• Designing sites that are fully responsive including producing mobile templates
• Designing lead generation and eCommerce websites
• Creating and optimising high performance landing pages
• Liaising directly with our web development team throughout the design stage
• Snagging and testing sites after development to ensure consistency with the design templates
• Collaborating with our wider creative and digital teams
• Managing your own time and dealing with the pressures of tight deadlines
• Managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and technologies
• Liaising with clients throughout the design stage

Key skills

To be considered, the successful candidate should have:

• Experience as a web designer in prior roles, preferably within an agency environment
• Proficiency in Figma, XD and Photoshop
• An excellent understanding of UI/UX principles
• An excellent understanding of web best practices including accessibility, SEO and performance
• A good understanding of analytics and performance tools including PageSpeed Insights, Google Analytics and Google Search Console amongst others
• Proficiency with content management systems including WordPress and Adobe Commerce along with page builders such as Elementor and WP Bakery
• Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced agency
• Ability to work efficiently maintaining high quality and accuracy
• Goal oriented and customer oriented
• Multi-project management skills, adhering to timelines and performing under pressure to achieve the targets
• Good attention to detail along with a creative mind
• Excellent team working skills to collaborate with various team members and work in alignment with them
• Animation and video production skills (not essential)
• Understanding of front-end development web programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JQuery, and JavaScript (not essential)
