A new online home for Derwent FM
Derwent Facilities Management Ltd or Derwent FM as they are usually known, were formed in 2010 as a sub-division of Derwent Living. Alongside their partner organisation, Derwent Students, they operate across a broad spectrum of clients in different sectors and in particular boast a wealth of experience in the education sector. They are one of the UK’s largest property management organisations with a portfolio of approximately 200,000 properties across the country. Derwent FM offer a wide array of services and their role is essential in the successful management of a large number of different properties. They pride themselves on their ability to deliver a level of service that satisfies anyone who visits, lives, or works in any of their buildings whilst maintaining the highest levels of health and safety.
Derwent’s website is an integral part of their marketing strategy, providing a platform where they can share information about their core services and capabilities within the facilities management sector. However, it quickly became apparent after our initial scoping workshops that their current online performance was hampered by a dated, slow website that wasn’t mobile responsive, this was leading to a poor user experience that didn’t clearly communicate their leadership and high standards in the facilities management industry. Our team set about redesigning and rebuilding the website with a contemporary, professional look and feel that was built mobile-first and better reflected their standards and capabilities to their client base.

To help Derwent showcase their position in the facilities management sector we were commissioned to provide a 2 day photoshoot at two different locations to capture a plethora of high-quality imagery that was to form a key focus for the new website. As well as the bright, welcoming and professional photography we captured, we also expanded on the site content, offering more ways for users to interact with the site including concise service and sector pages, providing key information on each individual page. We also implemented impactful call-to-actions across the site that engaged with users at the point of enquiry, to help drive more leads.
The finished site was clean, impactful and easy to navigate, we ensured that mobile users were at the forefront of the development and then end result provided Derwent with a flexible platform from which to showcase all of their services.
Since the launch of the new website we have continued our close working relationship with Derwent as their brand guardians, working closely with their team to deliver high quality offline marketing including corporate brochures, outbound e-shots, exhibition designs and supporting literature.
