‘Building’ a premium brand and eCommerce store
The Brick Tile Co. are a specialist brick tile manufacturer, supplying an array of premium brick tiles for both domestic and commercial projects for a client base including homeowners, trade accounts, property developers, shop fitters and commercial enterprises. From their state-of-the-art production facilities, The Brick Tile Co. produce a wide range of full brick tiles, half brick tiles and corner brick tiles, all of which are available in various colours and finishes.
As a new business start-up, the Brick Tile Co. came to us without a brand identity or any online or offline presence. We spent the first few weeks working closely with them to fully understand their business, their goals and aspirations and how they wanted to portray their brand, ultimately as a “premium brand with a high quality appeal”.
Once we had an understanding of what the brand needed to stand for and how it needed to be positioned in the market, our design team set about bringing the brand to life, with a number of concepts created and presented to the client with a varying array of colour palettes, fonts and layout options considered. The result was a modern, simplistic identity that was adaptive and could work across a range of touchpoints including an eCommerce website, product packaging, advertising and supporting collateral.

The Brick Tile Co. wanted an eCommerce store to be the main cog in their business, with an online presence key to their sales and visibility in their sector. The goals were clear; to provide users with a seamless user experience and drive strong sales through engaging content.
We created a sitemap and wireframes for the new website, focussing on the user journey, making the whole online experience easy to navigate and seamless to browse across any device. It was imperative we built a website that allowed for their ever expanding product range and gave The Brick Tile Co. the ability to manage and process orders and calculate shipping methods via the management system. For users, the site offers a free sample order service so they can ‘try before the buy’ and see the genuine quality of the brick tiles before submitting an order, as well as a facility for users to enter their specific project requirements including uploading photos and measurements to calculate how many brick tiles they require. The site also has the ability to cross-sell relatable products which automatically calculates quantities based on how many brick tiles are required, allowing the user to add everything they need to their cart in the click of a button.
We continue to work closely with The Brick Tile Co. adapting their website to ensure they remain at the forefront of their sector. We have also worked on a range of packaging to ensure that the whole user journey from the start of their customers online journey to receiving their box of brick tiles to their property, the experience is reflective of the quality of their brand.
Our vision for the website really focused on improving the user journey, making the whole online experience much more engaging and user friendly. We created wireframe and design templates for all devices to ensure that we delivered a site that was aesthetically engaging, effortless to browse regardless of the device and easy-to-use, with simple product selection, filtering and ordering including a one-step checkout.
Since launch we have seen a significant difference in site performance, the site is attracting in excess of 25,000 unique visits per week and online sales in the first year were a staggering £1m+.
