Bubble team members Chris, Dean, Rob and Rhys at the summit of Snowdon

Recently, a few members of our dedicated team at Bubble embarked on an exhilarating journey to Wales, to take on the challenge of climbing Mount Snowdon! This adventure was part of our training program for a significant charity event that we’ve got planned for early next year — details of which we’re keeping under wraps!

Setting off for Snowdonia

After a long day at the office, Chris T, Rob, Rhys and Dean set off on a four-hour commute to their accommodation for the night, which was nestled in the stunning Snowdonia National Park. This would be the first time most of the group had ever climbed Snowdon, and the plan was to get up in the middle of the night to climb in the dark and summit in time to watch the sunrise!

Upon arrival at the accommodation, there was just enough time to enjoy a quick drink at the bar and catch the end of the football, before retreating to our rooms for some much-needed rest, albeit we wouldn’t be getting much time to sleep!

An early start to adventure

In the early hours of the morning, we rose, ready to tackle the challenge that lay ahead. Climbing Snowdon in the dark was both daunting and exhilarating, especially for those who had never experienced this iconic peak before. We set off, head torches and layers on, on the Pyg Track, one of the most popular routes to the summit.

As we climbed, the path became steeper and more challenging, but the camaraderie and support among the team kept our spirits high. Each step brought us closer to our goal, and the promise of reaching the summit drove us forward. Despite the darkness, the anticipation of witnessing the sunrise from the top of Snowdon was enough to push us onward.

Reaching new heights

Finally, just after 7am, we reached the summit! Standing at 1,085 meters above sea level, we were pretty much in the clouds, so there wasn’t much of a view! It was all worth it though – the sense of accomplishment was overwhelming as we took the obligatory summit photos, capturing the moment that we can look back on with pride! We took a moment to appreciate our efforts and take a well-earned rest before starting the descent back down the mountain via the Miners Track. The sun was rising beautifully over the horizon on the way back down, so we did end up being lucky enough to witness it! The sunrise painted the sky in hues of orange and pink, offering spectacular views, that we took our time to soak up.

A rewarding conclusion

By the time we returned to the car just before 10 AM, we were exhausted yet exhilarated. The climb had tested our limits but also united us as a team. On our way back, we took a scenic drive through Snowdonia, stopping at Betws-y-Coed for a well-deserved breakfast in a charming local café. Savouring our food while reminiscing about the climb was the perfect way to wind down after such an unforgettable experience.

This journey to Mount Snowdon was more than just a physical challenge; it was a chance to strengthen our bonds as a team and prepare for our upcoming charity event. We are incredibly proud of what we achieved and grateful for the support of one another and the wider team throughout the hike.

As we continue our preparations for the charity event next year, we invite you to keep an eye on our channels for updates. We are excited to share more about this initiative and how we plan to make a positive impact in the local community!
