At Bubble, we pride ourselves on supporting local projects that bring communities together, and our recent collaboration with Retford FC is a perfect example of that commitment. The SL2 Rail Ground, home of Retford FC, has undergone a remarkable transformation since receiving investment, and we are proud to have played a role in this redevelopment.
Our involvement in this exciting project for Retford FC encompassed all aspects of design and printing, including pitch side advertising boards, stand signage, cafe and clubhouse signage, flags, and more. We were engaged every step of the way, from the initial measurements to the artwork design, installation, fitting, and deliveries to the ground. Our goal was not only to enhance the ground’s aesthetic appeal but also to embody the spirit of Retford FC and its community.
Pitch Side Advertising Boards and Stand Signage
One of the first elements we tackled was the pitch side advertising boards. These boards are crucial, providing both visual appeal and advertising opportunities for local businesses and businesses who had sponsored or invested in the club. We designed and printed vibrant, eye-catching boards for over 40 businesses, managing and liaising with each one to ensure the boards met their requirements, visually represented their brand, and gave them a strong presence at the ground.
The stand signage was another major aspect of our work. We created signs for each of the stands around the ground, including the new fully seated stand behind the goal and the standing areas around the pitch.
Cafe and Clubhouse Signage
The newly developed clubhouse plays a major role in the transformation, providing fans, players, and visitors with a place to socialise before and after matches. We took great care in designing signage that is clear, informative, and welcoming. This includes menu boards, branded signs, and advertising boards. The new signage has transformed these areas into inviting spaces where people can gather, relax, and enjoy the game day experience.
From Design to Installation
Our involvement didn’t stop at design and printing. We also assisted with the installation and fitting of the signage and advertising materials. Ensuring that every piece was perfectly placed and securely installed was crucial to the overall success of the project. The meticulous attention to detail during the installation process meant that everything was ready and looking fantastic for the grand reveal.
A Grand Unveiling
All the hard work culminated in a charity match against a Manchester United Legends XI on Saturday, June 22, 2024. This event was more than just a football match; it was a celebration of the community’s support and the unveiling of the newly revamped SL2 Rail Ground. The match saw football legends like Wes Brown, Darren Fletcher, Keith Gillespie, and Phil Bardsley take to the field, drawing in fans from near and far.
The atmosphere was fantastic, and seeing the community come together to enjoy the new facilities was incredibly rewarding. The ground looked spectacular, a true testament to the dedication and hard work from everyone involved at Retford FC and our team at Bubble.
