Variety of cakes and bakes laid out on a table for Macmillan coffee morning
A morning of coffee, cakes and camaraderie to support MacMillan Cancer Support!

The air in our office was recently filled with the irresistible aroma of freshly brewed coffee and home-baked goodies. The occasion? We were hosting a MacMillan Coffee Morning, an annual fundraising event organised by Macmillan Cancer Support.

The MacMillan Coffee Morning, traditionally held on the 29th September, is much more than just a fundraising initiative. Since its inception in 1990, it has grown into a powerful movement that brings people together to raise funds for those affected by cancer. And this year, like every other, we decided to take part and help raise funds for this worthy cause.

Our team members, who are ordinarily engrossed in their professional roles, embraced the opportunity to showcase their culinary skills! They baked a variety of sweet and savoury treats, transforming our workspace into a vibrant pop-up café! From decadent Biscoff chocolate brownies, lemon drizzle cake and millionaire shortbread to savoury cheese and brantson pastry rolls and fresh cream scones, the spread was a testament to the diversity and talent within our team!

As we savoured our teas and cake there was a real sense of camaraderie in the office, with everyone enjoying a good catch up! We also welcomed other local businesses from the area who dropped in to enjoy a slice of cake and a cuppa! We were of course taking donations to help us maximise the amount we could raise! Everyone was incredibly generous and together we raised an incredible £152!

Every crumb eaten and every cup drained represented our collective effort to support Macmillan Cancer Support’s mission to help those affected by cancer. It was a reminder that even small efforts, when pooled together, can make a significant impact.

Looking back on our successful MacMillan Coffee Morning, we all feel a sense of accomplishment. We didn’t just raise funds for a worthy cause; we also strengthened our bond as a team and with other local businesses. It was a perfect blend of giving, growing, and enjoying good food. And we look forward to hosting many more fulfilling and fun-filled coffee mornings!
