We’re thrilled to announce the promotion of Chris Theaker to Digital Director at Bubble – marking an incredible milestone in his 20-year journey with the company.
Chris first joined Bubble back in 2005, when the business was a small but ambitious design studio in Retford. Over the last two decades, he’s played a pivotal role in shaping Bubble into the full-service creative agency it is today – leading the evolution of our digital offering across web, SEO, and digital marketing, and helping to drive innovation, creativity, and growth at every step.
But Chris’s influence extends far beyond digital. He’s deeply embedded in Bubble’s culture – championing the people-first values that define who we are. Over the past few years, Chris has been instrumental in growing the team, helping to recruit and onboard over 14 new team members, while developing progression plans, leading reviews, and creating an environment where everyone feels supported, valued, and inspired to do their best work.
He has also been at the forefront of several cultural and social initiatives, from the introduction of our Cultural Roles Team and Future Talent Programme, to the team-building events, charity fundraisers, and social impact projects that make Bubble such a rewarding and inclusive place to work. His dedication to nurturing talent and strengthening Bubble’s team culture has helped shape not just the business’s success – but the spirit behind it.
Chris is particularly passionate about supporting the next generation and helping others within the team reach their potential. Having first joined Bubble for work experience at just 15 years old, before starting full-time employment after completing a college course in Graphic Design, he understands first-hand how belief and opportunity can shape a person’s career. That same support he once received is something he now strives to pass on – helping to guide, mentor, and inspire others to grow both personally and professionally within Bubble.
Speaking about his promotion, Chris said:

I’m incredibly proud to be stepping into this new role as Digital Director and to continue helping Bubble grow, innovate, and remain a great place to work for our team.”
As Digital Director, Chris will continue to lead the digital arm of the business while working closely with the senior leadership team to drive Bubble’s growth, champion its culture, and ensure the agency continues to thrive as both a creative partner and an employer of choice.
