This year marks a special milestone at Bubble, as Chris celebrates 20 years with the agency – a journey that mirrors not only his own personal growth, but the evolution of Bubble itself.
Chris joined Bubble at just 18 years old, straight from completing two years at Doncaster Churchview College, where he achieved a triple distinction in graphic design. But his connection with Bubble started even earlier. While still at school, he completed a weekβs work experience at the agency – an experience that left a lasting impression and sparked a genuine desire to build a career there.
βI loved my time on work experience,β Chris reflects. βIt felt like somewhere I could really belong, be creative, and learn.β
So when college finished, Bubble was the very first place he approached. It was good timing, as the agency was looking to hire after a few designers had moved on, and Chris joined the team as a junior graphic designer.
From day one, it was clear this was where he was meant to be. Chris often says he learned more in his first week at Bubble than he had in two years at college, gaining invaluable real-world experience and a deeper understanding of how design works in a commercial, client-focused environment.
Growing with the industry – and the agency
In the early days, digital design and marketing were very different to what they are now. Websites were simpler, and digital services hadnβt yet become the powerhouse they are today. But even then, Bubble could see that times were changing – and Chris was right there as the business began to adapt and expand.
When the agencyβs web designer and developer left the business, Chris stepped into web design, discovering a new passion and skillset. It wasnβt long before a small web team was formed, with Chris eventually becoming Head of Web Design, helping shape how Bubble approached website design and development.
As the digital landscape continued to evolve, so did Bubbleβs services. What started with web design and development grew to include SEO, social media marketing, email marketing, PPC, and more. Digital soon became the fastest-growing part of the business – and Chris naturally grew with it.
He moved into the role of Head of Digital, mentoring team leads across the web, content and social departments. His focus was simple but powerful: collaboration, consistency, and delivering the very best results for clients.
A passion for standards, growth and people
Chris is known for his drive to maintain high standards – not just in the work Bubble delivers, but in how the business operates. As his role evolved, he became increasingly involved in the wider development of the agency, helping to shape campaigns that drive growth, attract new opportunities, and move Bubble forward strategically.
Alongside this, he has always been deeply invested in our team culture. Chris plays a key role in planning team events, introducing new initiatives, and creating an environment where people feel valued, supported, and proud of the work they do.
βBubble has been a constant for me,β he says. βThrough all the ups and downs of life, itβs been a place where Iβve made friends, felt supported, and been able to express my creativity.β
A milestone moment
At the end of 2025, Chris reached a major personal milestone – officially becoming a director of Bubble. Itβs an achievement heβs incredibly proud of, and one that reflects two decades of dedication, growth, and commitment to the agency.
βIt means a lot,β he shares. βIt’s a recognition of the journey and the role Iβve played in helping Bubble grow.β
Looking ahead
Twenty years on, Chris remains as passionate as ever – about the work, the people, and the future of Bubble.
As Bubble continues to evolve, Chris is excited to keep contributing to its success – supporting the team, pushing creative boundaries, and helping the agency thrive for many years to come.
