We’re looking for a motivated and dynamic Business Development Manager to join our passionate and expanding team.

As a Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in driving new business growth for the agency, with a strong focus on winning new client accounts while also developing opportunities with existing clients. This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves the challenge of generating new business, is driven by hitting goals and targets, and has excellent people skills. You will be working with B2B clients across all sectors and all types of business to generate leads, assist with client communications, and support the sales process from initial contact through to closing deals.

Full-time
Hybrid (Minimum of 2 days a week at our Retford location)
Salary: Competitive + Commission

Key responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• Proactively identifying and targeting prospective clients, owning outreach activity to generate new business opportunities across our full range of design and marketing services, with a strong focus on web design and development and SEO
• Developing new business opportunities with existing clients, alongside winning and onboarding new client accounts
• Building a strong understanding of our target audience, services, processes, and value proposition to confidently and clearly communicate the benefits of working with us
• Engaging with prospective and existing clients via phone, email, LinkedIn, and face-to-face meetings, nurturing long-term, trusted relationships
• Actively using LinkedIn as a business development tool to build connections, generate leads, and position the agency as a trusted partner
• Identifying upselling and cross-selling opportunities by understanding client challenges and aligning them with relevant digital marketing and creative solutions
• Arranging and leading discovery and scoping meetings with prospective clients to understand requirements and qualify opportunities
• Collaborating closely with our in-house teams to create tailored, compelling proposals that reflect client needs and showcase our expertise
• Managing and maintaining accurate, up-to-date records within the CRM system
• Upholding and championing our high standards of customer service, ensuring a positive and professional experience at every touchpoint
• Representing the agency at networking events, conferences, and other business development opportunities to build brand awareness and industry connections
• Supporting wider sales objectives, contributing to sales meetings, performance targets, and ongoing business development strategy

Key skills

To be considered, the successful candidate should have:

• Proven experience in a sales or business development role within a design, digital, or marketing agency (essential)
• A strong understanding of web design and development and SEO, with the ability to confidently sell these services alongside wider digital marketing and creative solutions
• Experience scoping projects, discussing requirements, answering client questions, and providing informed guidance and best-practice recommendations aligned to client goals
• The ability to translate technical or strategic concepts into clear, commercially focused conversations that resonate with non-technical stakeholders
• A genuine passion for sales, with a proactive, target-driven mindset and a desire to exceed expectations
• Excellent people and relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop trust and long-term partnerships with clients
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to engage effectively via phone, email, LinkedIn, and in-person meetings
• A keen interest in learning about different industries, digital trends, and evolving best practices within web, SEO, and marketing
• The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with internal teams, demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach
• Experience using CRM systems and digital tools to manage pipelines, track activity, and maintain accurate client records
